Jane Ekin-Smyth

Jane is a family lawyer with over 40 years experience in representing clients from a diverse range of backgrounds and personal circumstances. She has an ongoing commitment to early identification of relevant issues and thoughtful management of disputes, with a view to resolving, rather than escalating, disputes in which clients find themselves.

After decades working with separating and divorced clients her professional philosophy is to manage cases with a view to minimizing client interaction with the court system where reasonably and appropriately practical.

After assisting countless clients resolve their disputes she has been convinced that it is undoubtedly in their interests, and the interests of their children, to resolve disputes in a respectful manner focusing on resolution and finalisation avoiding conflict escalation.

Jane strives to adopt best practice principles in her approach to assisting clients informed by current legislative and common law developments, coupled with a consideration of the latest social science research.
